Our daughter is 9 years old as I write this. She loves screens in all forms. We've decided to generally restrict screen time until other important tasks are dealt with. For example, we insist:
- She does her homework
- She exercises / plays outside
- She does her chores
- She socializes
Prior to playing. We want her to enjoy screens, but we find without imposing limits, they become a huge drain on her attention and focus. I don't think she needs to have a life without screens, but without these limits, I think she can get lost in them.
As a parent, I want her to develop mentally and physically in the real world as much as possible.
